A Tragic “We told you so!”

Well everyone, sorry I’ve not been blogging much of late. Been busy.

Also, if you do not want depressing news, then read no further. Apologies to return with tragic and gruesome things, but as Christians living in a world where death is applauded we need to be aware of such.

If you’ve been following the story of little Charlie Gard of England, you’ll know British and European Union death panels have forbidden the infant’s parents from bringing him to the U.S. where doctors think maybe they can help him from a rare affliction. It’s scary enough that a government agency has more power over a baby’s life than his own parents. But they effectively carried out a death sentence on the baby, (falsely) citing costs to the national medical system (many people want a similar ‘single payer’ system in our country). They deemed experimental, cutting-edge treatments as ‘human experimentation’ and so doomed baby Charlie to certain death. Remember that virtually all life-saving treatments you can get today were once experimental, cutting-edge treatments that a few people bravely and hopefully underwent.

As pro-Life people have warned for years, that if it is permissible to kill babies within the womb, the next terrifying, ‘logical’ step will be that it is permissible to kill babies after they have been born. After all, there is precious little physical difference between a baby girl a week before she is born and a week after she is born. The only difference is her location: either inside her Mom, or outside her Mom. She’s still the same baby.

Now comes a public article from Ecology Professor Dr. Jerry Coyne of the University of Chicago. He is urging laws be passed to allow babies to be killed after they are born. Quoting the vile ‘doctor’, “If you are allowed to abort a fetus that has a severe genetic defect, microcephaly, spina bifida, or so on, then why aren’t you able to euthanize that same fetus just after it’s born?  I see no substantive difference that would make the former act moral and the latter immoral. After all, newborn babies aren’t aware of death, aren’t nearly as sentient as an older child or adult, and have no rational faculties to make judgments (and if there’s severe mental disability, would never develop such faculties). It makes little sense to keep alive a suffering child who is doomed to die or suffer life in a vegetative or horribly painful state. After all, doctors and parents face no legal penalty for simply withdrawing care from such newborns, like turning off a respirator, but Singer suggests that we should be allowed, with the parents’ and doctors’ consent, to painlessly end their life with an injection. I agree.”

His lying is of colossal magnitude. Babies (“fetus” is just one passing stage of a human’s life, just like being a “teen” or “senior citizen,” all are fully human beings) are aborted rarely because of the reasons this monster cites. Usually babies are killed in the womb for convenience sake. That would mean that killing babies outside the womb for convenience sake would also be acceptable. And what would the age limit be?? No doubt any laws even to limit it to eighteen months would be called “an attack on women’s rights.” (Coyne’s co-hort, Dr. Singer of Princeton, picked 18 months out of his hat.)

Maybe you also don’t notice his glaring fascist philosophy, straight out of Adolph Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.” This Doctor of Death falsely states, “newborn babies aren’t aware of death, aren’t nearly as sentient as an older child or adult, and have no rational faculties to make judgments.” Ladies and gentlemen, that is pure fascism. Cut and dried. Fascist philosophy states that no one is ‘human’ until he / she reaches some undefined “age of reason” and then makes a “moral” choice. This has always been used by the Abortion movement to justify killing babies in the womb. Now they are just logically and satanically extending this to babies outside the womb. Oh, and once the elderly can no longer make such “choices”, fascism says they are no longer human, and so also can be ‘mercy’ killed mercilessly.

Abortion is a cancer in our culture. It is spreading. Little Charlie Gard is being required to be killed. The vile Dr. Coyne wants to spread that to America at the whim of (probably) just the mother, since mothers alone now have power to kill in the womb. Insurance companies in “‘Right’ to Die” states like Oregon are now pressuring senior citizens to refuse cancer treatments, and instead take pain pills to die more quickly, thus laying upon seniors a duty to die, so as not to consume the nation’s health care resources.

And who will define when a life is worth living? Which physician’s prognosis will be 100% sure? What lab technician will render judgement about a life being worth the costs to ‘national’ medical care??

These things are not a dystopian future: these things are happening now, already, today. Pray the God of the Living will stir up the hearts of mankind that men and women will follow God’s command:  “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days.”

[If you know a woman / girl who has had an abortion, please reassure her that there is still mercy and repentance in Christ, and that our Lord Who resurrects the dead will make all things new at His Return. Private Confession and Absolution is available for Moms and Dads regarding abortion. Then in repentance and turning away from the sin of abortion, a new life of joy and peace can come. Christ also paid the price of those babies’ sins, so they shall also join us in eternal life by God’s power and mercy. ]
